Abstract
In enforcing the Notary's code of ethics it is very necessary to avoid deviations in the implementation of their duties, but in practice there are still those who do not heed the code of ethics guidelines, especially those concerning the arrangement of installing a Notary's nameplate so that they experience a violation of the code of ethics. This is evidenced by the installation of a Notary's board that is not in accordance with the Notary's office regulations and code of ethics, the installation of a nameplate for more than one place of office, and a former Notary's nameplate who no longer holds the position of a Notary (retired or deceased). So, the problem of this research is how are the provisions in the Installation of Notary Nameplates based on the guidelines of the Notary Code of Ethics? What forms of law enforcement can be taken for a Notary who is negligent in installing a nameplate by not following the Notary's code of ethics? What is the notary's responsibility for violating the code of ethics for installing a notary's nameplate? And what is the correct role of a Notary according to the code of ethics guidelines? The purpose of this research is to provide legal knowledge in the notary field in order to understand how the position of a notary is in carrying out their duties and to know the responsibility of a notary in the event of a violation of the code of ethics. The method used in this research is the library method. The results of this study are First, the provisions regarding the installation of nameplates have been regulated in the Notary's code of ethics. Second, notaries who violate the installation of nameplates will be subject to sanctions in accordance with applicable regulations. Third, the notary's responsibility for the violation is in the form of administrative sanctions. Fourth, the Notary in carrying out his activities must be guided by the Code of Ethics and the Law on the position of a Notary.
