Melihat Perang Israel-Palestina Dalam Sudut Pandang Teori Moral Immanuel Kant
Main Article Content
Abstract
Moral existence becomes an ethical standard with the application of moral ethics by Kant based on the theory of deontological ethics in moral philosophy, an action is considered ethical if it is in accordance with the applicable principles of obligation. Israel's war with Palestine has aspects of discussion that are problematic, especially in terms of morality. This research aims to update and deepen understanding of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict through the lens of Immanuel Kant's morality using qualitative research methods with a descriptive analysis approach. In this complex context, the moral view in Deontological theory will be the basis for analyzing the ongoing conflict between Israel and Palestine. The Israeli side of the war is still considered to have morals when only seen from the war, which is the scope of Israel's obligations to fight for the identity of their country, but looking at it from The side of destruction that has a lot of evidence and the large number of casualties, especially civilians, makes the limits of moral values according to Kant's theory disappear. It is concluded that Kant's view of moral standards above legal standards, with human conscience as the basis of moral responsibility, shows his view of punishment as a form of revenge that is not in accordance with moral principles. In its application to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, Kant's theory highlights that Israel is considered to have exceeded its moral limits in war. Although the author recognizes the value of Israel's early morality, further explanation of events leads to a loss of their moral relevance. This conclusion reflects the view that in Kant's perspective, moral value can be lost if actions cannot be justified on the grounds of moral obligation.
