Penerapan Etika Dalam Menjaga Kelestarian Lingkungan

Abstract

The utilization of natural resources and environmental management based on ethics is a necessity to realize environmental sustainability in the future. This study aimed to analyze the application of ethics in environmental conservation efforts. The method used is Qualitative Descriptive. The data collection techniques used include literature studies and documentation, in-depth interviews, and participatory observation. The study results show some relevant ethics applied for environmental conservation, namely the ethics of responsibility to minimize negative impacts on the environment, the ethics of intergenerational justice to pay attention to the rights of future generations, the ethics of participation to involve all stakeholders, and the ethics of symbiosis to maintain ecosystem balance. The implementation of these ethics is expected to build awareness and shared commitment to maintain environmental sustainability in a sustainable manner. In addition, this study also discusses ways to implement each of these ethics into various environmental conservation policies and programs. The analysis results indicate that the implementation of the concepts and principles of these ethics has not been optimal and comprehensive. Strengthening regulations and oversight related to the application of environmental ethics in various sectors are needed, such as industrial waste management, forest utilization and mining. Multi-stakeholder collaboration also needs to be improved so that environmental conservation goals can be achieved sustainably. Periodic performance evaluation and impact assessment of the implementation of environmental ethics are also needed to determine the level of public understanding and awareness of the importance of ethics-based environmental conservation. This study also analyzes the challenges faced in implementing environmental ethics, such as the still low level of public awareness, conflicts of interest between stakeholders, and resource constraints for disseminating ethical values. For this reason, continuous moral education for the public is needed, incentive schemes for environmentally friendly businesses, and international financing support to strengthen green ethics implementation in various sectors.
