Degradasi Moral Dalam Etika Budaya Bangsa Indonesia (Studi Kasus Degradasi Moral Citra Polri)

Abstract

Morality is an important aspect in humans that arises from the existence of religion and culture that can be measured by how the condition or state of an individual's environment. Today, problems related to moral degradation are increasing, allegedly due to the influence of globalization that has begun to affect Indonesian society, as is often found in the Indonesian National Police, which often overrides morals in making decisions. This research aims to examine the case that is considered capable of degrading the dignity of the Indonesian National Police by looking at the incident based on existing data and seeing the role of morals in this case. The research method used in this writing is descriptive qualitative, which is a research method that aims only to describe the facts as they are related to an object under study with a case study approach. After the research was conducted, it was found that the existence of morals and cultural ethics is a different instrument but related to each other, morals need ethics and ethics need morals. Its existence is so crucial to be upheld in a broad scope of society. Moral comes from the merging of religious and cultural values that are currently often under threat, namely moral degradation. Moral degradation becomes a serious threat when it is not addressed, either by preventive or persuasive efforts. The case of POLRI, which has never restored its image due to the indictment of UI students who have died, is one example of moral degradation that threatens the integrity of the nation. Therefore, as a proper guide to life, society must be based on the values of Pancasila.
