Fenomena Bunuh Diri Pada Mahasiswa Dalam Tekanan Akademik Dipandang Dari Perspektif Teori Bunuh Diri (Suicide) Menurut Emile Durkheim

Abstract
The phenomenon of suicide among students is one of the problems in the world of education, the factors that cause suicide to occur are due to the influence of unsupportive environmental factors, the influence of unfavorable friends, and psychological disorders. This research aims to determine the problems faced by students and is related to Emile Durkheim's theory and the emergence of suicidal ideas in students. This research method uses a qualitative phenomenological approach by analyzing more deeply to obtain an individual's life experience. In data collection techniques through analytical techniques, students commit suicide due to many influencing factors such as academics, history of illness, and family. Apart from that, environmental intervention is also included in a person's self- development to commit suicide. Emile Durkheim explained that there are four types of suicide, Egoistic, Altruistic, Anomic, and Fatalistic. In the context of students who experience pressure when completing final assignments, feelings of hopelessness and lack of control over the situation can increase the risk of suicide, in accordance with Durkheim's perspective in Fatalistic theory. Apart from that, the type of anomie in Emil Durkheim's suicide theory is also related to feelings of social instability or chaos which can increase the risk of suicide.
