Abstract

This research aims to find out and understand the actions of health workers who commit negligence or errors in medical services which are often referred to as malpractice. The type of research used in this research is Normative Ethics with a descriptive qualitative approach method. The existence of claims regarding the negligence of health workers from patients is something that is actually avoided and even feared because it involves the good name and credibility of a profession that has long been considered noble in saving people's lives. Initiating activities that are below standard or even above standard to avoid the risk of prosecution. In addition, the equal relationship between doctor and patient is a medical contract that is naturally and unfavorably disturbed due to suspicions from both parties regarding the delivery of information related to medical procedures carried out by Health Workers, the incompatibility of medical actions carried out by Health Workers with what is stated. in a medical agreement contract, or even actions that violate Standard Operating Procedures, causing harm to the Patient. The existence of the Indonesian Medical Discipline Honorary Council as an institution that has the authority to follow up and provide sanctions regarding alleged errors committed by doctors and dentists in applying their knowledge. With the presence of the Indonesian Medical Discipline Honorary Council, anyone can complain if their interests are harmed by the actions of a doctor or dentist in carrying out medical practice.
