Abstract

 National Identity is an identity that a nation always needs to keep in this era of
modern globalization. One of the examples of National Identity is National delicacy, which
also has to be preserved. In this era of modern globalization, Korean food is one of Korean
culture that is now in fashion in Indonesia. Many Korean restaurants already exist in
Indonesia. The number of Korean food enthusiasts is also high. Korean food is a unique dish
because most Korean food is made through pre-fermentation. This is due to cultural and
climatic factors, in addition to enriching the taste of food. And also Korean food is called healthy
food because of the fermentation. However, this has its own impact on Indonesian food. Some
people are more familiar with Korean food than with Indonesian food. This caused Indonesian
food to become less popular and in demand. The question arises is whether a National delicacy
is enough to play a role in developing it’s national identity?
