Abstract

The Penitentiary Institution, referred to as LAPAS, is a place to guide Prisoners and Correctional Students. The Penitentiary must perform the fulfillment of the rights of prisoners following statutory regulations. This research aims to describe and analyze the perspectives of prisoners on policies and services in correctional institutions as well as the evaluation of policies and services they receive during their sentences. This research involves prisoners through in-depth interviews that reveal the complex views of prisoners on existing policies in correctional institutions. The results of this study can provide deep insight into prisoners' perspectives related to policies and services in penitentiary institutions. The implications of the findings can serve as a basis for policymakers and practitioners in the field of corrections to improve the effectiveness of policies and services provided to prisoners, taking into account the different perspectives and needs of prisoners.
