Abstract

Consumer protection, is an effort to guarantee legal certitude in order to protect consumer’s behalf and to encourage both the consumer and bussinessmen to appreciate and fulfill their rights and obligations when doing bussiness. Online transaction which is an improvement of buy-and-sell transaction, is an agreement which bind both party, but using the internet as it’s main tools and done without any direct interaction. So, electronic transaction has that gap which can cause disadvantage to the consumer, for example : a misfit item. A misfit item can be interpreted as an unaccomplished agreement which is done between consumer and bussinessmen, which also can cause legal action. Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 11 of 1999 on Consumer Protection was made with a considerations that bussiness should evolve without causing any disadvantage to the consumers.The evolution of bussiness as written is now reach the electronic transaction stage, which have a more detailed regulation on Law of the Republic of Indonesia No. 11 of 2008 as an efffect of electronic transaction’s evolution, and also to gave a secure feelings on doing transaction without direct interaction.
