Abstract
Sexual harassment is not only a serious problem but also has a highly detrimental impact on the individuals who experience it. Sexual harassment refers to all acts that involve any form of sexual behavior carried out unilaterally without the victim's consent. In some cases of sexual harassment, victims often face difficulties in obtaining justice and receiving support from society and the legal system. One common occurrence is victim blaming, which involves blaming the victim for the sexual harassment they experienced. In this regard, the perception of students about victim blaming in sexual harassment is essential because students are part of the community who should support and defend victims of sexual harassment. Therefore, this study aims to explore further the phenomenon of victim blaming in sexual harassment and the factors that influence it. This study used a qualitative descriptive approach with an interview method involving 15 students, consisting of 8 females and 7 males from several universities in the Tangerang area. Based on the interview results, there were differences in opinions among the respondents regarding victim blaming factors related to the victim's dressing style, which provokes the perpetrator to behave inappropriately. 20% of the respondents agreed that the victim's dressing style could influence sexual harassment, while 80% of other respondents rejected this view. 40% of the respondents agreed that sexual harassment could occur due to the victim's social interaction or environment, while 60% of other respondents disagreed because they believe that when someone has close friends, they protect each other from such harassment.
