Etika Profesi Kepolisian Dalam Pelaksanaan Tugas Penegakan Hukum

Abstract
The police profession plays a strategic role in maintaining law enforcement, public order, and social stability. Police officers are not only required to enforce the law but also to uphold professional ethics and moral responsibility in every action they take. In practice, police officers frequently face complex situations that create ethical dilemmas between legal norms, institutional demands, and moral considerations. This study aims to analyze the implementation of police professional ethics in law enforcement duties and to
examine ethical challenges faced by police officers in maintaining professionalism. This research employs a qualitative empirical approach through interviews supported by extensive literature review. The findings indicate that the police code of ethics functions as a fundamental guideline for professional conduct, although differences between normative regulations and field conditions often necessitate careful discretion and strong moral integrity (Bertens, 2011; Rawls, 1999; Gunawan et al., 2025).
