Abstract

Prisons are responsible for providing guidance to prisoners so that they can re-socialize with the community. The social reintegration program is carried out through the stages of assimilation coaching, leave to visit family, parole, pre-release leave, and conditional leave. Factors that influence the success of social reintegration include facilities and infrastructure, human resources, the community, and the prisoners themselves. The social reintegration process can be part of a broader crime prevention strategy.
